Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Resource Nurse supports high-quality, patient-centered care by mentoring and guiding nurses, especially those transitioning to new specialties. The role involves supporting multiple units, ensuring compliance with hospital standards, policies, and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as an RN
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing, leadership experience, preceptor experience

Licenses & Certifications

• Active RN license in the state(s) of practice or valid compact license
• BLS (within 30 days of hire)
• ACLS
• Preceptor Training (within 90 days)
• NIHSS (within 30 days)
• CPI (within 90 days)
• BERT (within 90 days)
• NRP (within 12 months)
• PALS (within 12 months)

Essential Job Functions

• Participate in implementing care plans under RN supervision
• Record patient information accurately
• Assist with patient mobility and activities of daily living
• Support with non-medicated care and specimen collection
• Ensure medication safety and patient preparation for procedures
• Respond promptly to patient needs and safety protocols
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatments
