Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Major Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs using the nursing process, plan and implement individualized interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness. Involve patients and families in care planning, maintaining therapeutic relationships throughout care.
- Recognize significant changes in patient condition, provide ongoing assessment, and collaborate with the healthcare team to adjust the care plan as needed.
- Implement safety strategies, assess patient and family readiness to learn, and develop educational approaches accordingly.
- Coordinate discharge planning using an interdisciplinary approach, applying evidence-based practices, and adhering to standards of care.
- Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Communicate effectively, promote collaboration, and assume leadership roles, including delegation to unlicensed personnel.
- Identify safety threats, report incidents, and participate in corrective actions to ensure patient safety.
- Demonstrate ethical decision-making, respect peers and other disciplines, and contribute to patient-centered care.
- Engage in professional development activities, attend meetings, and complete required competencies annually.
- Provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development principles, and interpret patient data to meet individual needs.
Licensure, Registration, and Certification
- Valid RN license issued by the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Education
- Completion of an accredited nursing program
Experience
- Typically at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience
- Previous OR experience or clinical rotation preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach, and twist frequently
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist; 20 lbs overhead; carry up to 40 lbs
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force; perform transfers with assistance
- Use of foot pedals, exposure to chemicals, hazardous waste, blood, and body fluids with protective gear as needed
- Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch; fine motor skills for procedures
