Aurora Health's WI Float Pool (Multi-Site) is seeking Critical Care (ICU) Registered Nurses to join our stellar team of float nurses in our North Market!!!
Experience: 2 years ICU experience required
Float Site: BayCare, Bay Area, Oshkosh, Manitowoc, Sheboygan
Night shift positions are required to schedule 2 Fridays and 24-hours of weekends 6-weeks (all hours are self-scheduled)

Major Responsibilities:
- Use the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness. Include the patient and family in planning and maintain therapeutic relationships.
- Recognize significant changes in patient condition, provide ongoing assessment, and take appropriate actions. Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient-centered care.
- Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and increase safety. Assess and educate patients and families, developing tailored strategies.
- Coordinate discharge planning using an interdisciplinary approach. Apply evidence-based practices and standards of care.
- Continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, and take necessary actions. Support quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution. Promote collaboration and delegate appropriately.
- Promote safety by identifying threats and intervening to prevent harm. Report safety events and near misses timely.
- Apply ethical decision-making, respect peers and disciplines, and participate as an effective team member.
- Participate in quality/process improvement initiatives and personal/professional development activities.
- Provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development, and interpret patient data accordingly.
Licensure, Registration, and Certifications:
- RN license issued by the practicing state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
Education:
- Completion of an accredited Nursing program
Experience:
- Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Progression in providing holistic patient care and recognizing situational changes
- Proficient with electronic records and communication tools
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to make critical decisions independently
- Time management and multi-tasking skills
- Team building and delegation skills
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and perform physical tasks as described
- Lift up to 50 lbs, carry 40 lbs, push/pull with 30 lbs of force
- Operate equipment, wear protective gear, and respond to medical hazards
