Job summary

Trigg County Hospital Inc in Cadiz, KY is seeking an experienced ED RN to perform triage, assess patients, provide care and discharge education. You will use the Emergency Severity Index, administer IV therapy, wound care, and support stabilization under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include ACLS/PALS interventions, documentation in the EMR, delegating tasks to Paramedics and CNAs, and collaborating with staff, patients and families.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s in Nursing from an accredited nursing school.
• Licensure in Kentucky or Compact State License (RN).
• BLS, ACLS, PALS; TNCC preferred or required within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Performs triage by collecting current information and patient history to determine care priority using ESI.
• Performs patient care procedures including IV therapy, wound care, immobilizations and meds.
• Stabilizes patients and assists physicians with exams, testing and treatment; documents in EMR.

Job description

Essential Functions:Performs triage by collecting current information, as well as a detailed patient history and determine priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs, using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI), triage level system.Performs patient care and patient care procedures, including IV therapy, wound cleansing and dressing, immobilizations, medication administration and assessments, reassessments and discharge education.Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes the patient until seen by the provider, based upon nursing standards and protocolsProvides any and all ACLS/PALS interventionsWorks directly under physicians, assisting with exams, diagnostic testing and treatmentDocuments on the EMR systems, appropriately and completely on patients.Delegates tasks to Paramedics, LPNs & CNAs, as neededCommunicates and collaborates with other staff members, patients, family/visitors and other departments within the hospitalAny and all other duties assigned by Nurse ManagerQUALIFICATIONS:Education: Associates or Bachelor’s in Nursing from an accredited nursing schoolLicensure in Kentucky or Compact State LicenseBLS, ACLS, PALS.
