Team Overview

Our Research & Development (R&D) team is the technical talent at the heart of our product suite, overseeing the product development lifecycle from concept to delivery. From engineering to quality assurance to data science, the R&D team ensures our customers seamlessly use our products and can depend on their consistency.

In this role you will lead complex projects, give strategic direction and ensure that all project milestones are met within the agreed deadlines and budgets. You are responsible for leading project teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and delivering project outcomes that match the business objectives. You will need to demonstrate an ability to think clearly, adapt quickly, communicate effectively, and to collaborate with the PowerSchool technical organizations to produce consistent and high-quality results.

ResponsibilitiesDescription

The Project Management team ensures successful project delivery, including overseeing project objectives, timelines, and budgetary requirements, while maintaining high standards of quality and stakeholder satisfaction.

Your day-to-day job will consist of:

  • Direct complex projects involving multiple teams, ensuring seamless integration with activities beyond the project scope.

  • Empower teams to achieve project goals, streamline communications, and manage stakeholder expectations. Facilitate regular updates and progress reports to keep all parties informed and ensure that initiatives align with organizational goals and deliver value.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive status reports, track project progress through key metrics, and provide editorial feedback to optimize performance and outcomes.

  • Proactively identify risks and potential conflicts between multiple initiatives. Strategize to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.

  • Work with stakeholders to improve the tracking and visibility of initiatives. Build trust and rapport with both technical and non-technical team members.

  • Drive initiatives to refine project management methodologies and best practices. Lead by example to encourage adherence to these processes across the organization.

  • Act as a mentor to peers within the project management community. Share knowledge, develop project management competencies, and contribute to the collective improvement of the R&D project management organization.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8+ years of relevant and related work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Additional experience may be substitute for an advanced Degree.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of managing multiple technical projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities, and leading distributed teams effectively. Experience with Information Security concepts, practices, and tools highly desirable
  • Exhibits the ability to spearhead major organizational initiatives, either independently or as the lead project/program manager.

  • Possesses exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, fostering a collaborative work environment.

  • Capable of articulating project details clearly to various organizational levels, tailoring the communication to the audience's needs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Well-versed in agile methodologies and adept at using relevant project management tools to enhance efficiency.
  • Understands the Education Technology industry, enabling tailored project management approaches in this sector.
  • Passionate about mentoring and guiding junior project managers, contributing to the development of the team's technical and process skills.
  • PMP Certification and a working knowledge of Generative AI preferred.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $114,800 - $163,700 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; specific geographic location; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
