Job description

Staff Psychologist - Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program

Join to apply for the Staff Psychologist - Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program role at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

This position involves providing psychological assessment and treatment services to veterans, participating in training and program development, and serving as a consultant within the medical center.

Pay Range

Base pay ranges from $86,849 to $160,922 annually, based on experience and skills. The position may be eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which offers student loan repayment assistance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a full range of psychological assessment and treatment services to veterans with various psychiatric diagnoses.
  • Offer empirically validated psychotherapies, including CBT, DBT, CPT, and ACT, through individual, group, and family therapy formats.
  • Design and implement effective treatment strategies, incorporating new clinical procedures as needed.
  • Participate in training programs, supervise psychology students and interns, and contribute to program development and evaluation.
  • Serve as a consultant to other staff and trainees, and participate in performance monitoring and documentation.
  • Represent the VA at professional and community events.
Work Schedule and Benefits

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Flexible work arrangements may be available.

Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Meeting educational and licensure requirements, including a doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited program, licensure, and internship completion.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the basic requirements and demonstrate relevant experience for the grade level. For GS-11, no experience is required beyond basic; for GS-12 and GS-13, specific experience and demonstrated skills are necessary.

Additional Information

Physical requirements include sitting, walking, bending, and light physical activity. Applicants should be in good health and able to pass VA physical and operational requirements.
