Job description

McLean Hospital is a comprehensive psychiatric hospital committed to providing easy access to superior quality, cost-effective mental health services in the Boston area, Massachusetts and beyond. Since 1811, McLean Hospital has been a world leader in the treatment of mental illness and chemical dependency, research into the cause of mental illness and the training of generations of mental health care providers. McLean's multidisciplinary programs treat a broad range of psychiatric illnesses across the full continuum of care. McLean Hospital is seeking to fill a full time (1.0FTE) psychologist position in the McLean School Consultation Service. McLean School Consultation Service (SCS) is a multidisciplinary team of clinicians with expertise in child and adolescent mental health. Our program is dedicated to empowering schools, organizations and their communities to promote the positive mental health of their students. We are committed to expanding the reach of evidence-based interventions for youth and eliminating obstacles to effective mental health support. We accomplish this by translating strategies we use in our McLean treatment clinics for use in school, home and community-based settings. The staff psychologist will take the lead in providing direct consultation and training in evidence-based practices to out partnerships in schools and community-organizations and manage the consultative needs of them. As a team member, the Staff Psychologist will take an active role in contributing to SCS's program and curriculum development. We are seeking an organized, dedicated, self-starting and enthusiastic member of our multi-disciplinary team

External Qualifications: Ph.D., Psy.D. or Ed.D degree in psychology from an accredited school of psychology and have a strong background in Cognitive Behavioral therapy or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Candidates must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Native language proficiency in Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese preferred, but not required. Experience in consultation or working in schools a plus.
