The University of California, Irvine is seeking a Staff Psychiatrist to provide direct outpatient care, ensuring the quality, accessibility, and safety of mental health services. Responsibilities include psychiatric consultations and supporting patients during hospitalizations.
This role requires an MD, board certification, and a current medical license in California. Following a six-month probation period, the position allows for one day of remote work weekly. Comprehensive medical benefits and a competitive salary range of $184,548.00 to $283,920.00 annually are offered.
The Staff Psychiatrist provides direct, outpatient, ambulatory patient care, including psychiatric consultations and facilitating hospitalizations. This position is responsible for assuring continuous and ongoing quality, accessibility, and safety of mental health services to the patients and for promptly reporting to the Chief of Psychiatry and/or leadership delegate all issues which may impact patient care and safety. This position also provides professional consultation to other Student Health Center clinicians, Student Affairs, academic, professional, and department advisors, and staff of other campus departments on mental health issues and emergencies.
