Job summary

Redwire is seeking a Project Engineer, Staff (IV) & Software Integration Lead in San Luis Obispo, CA. You will lead major engineering workstreams across hardware, software, systems, test and production, driving integration and milestone readiness.

You will own technical readiness for reviews such as CoDR, PDR, CDR and TRR, mentor junior engineers, and manage the software QA team, expanding automated testing and CI coverage as the program grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Technical Management, or related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in project engineering or engineering operations.
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional coordination for major engineering workstreams.
• Own milestone readiness: track criteria, organize artifacts, ensure inputs on time.
• Drive technical integration across EE/ME/SW/Systems/Test.
• Build and maintain schedules and integration plans for complex segments.
• Run recurring coordination meetings with clear next steps.
• Collaborate with systems engineering to maintain requirement alignment.
• Coordinate prototype builds, integration events, and test readiness.
• Support ECO workflows and cross-team configuration control alignment.
• Provide mentorship to Associate and L2 Project Engineers.
• Serve as execution partner to engineering leadership.
• Manage software quality assurance team and expand automated testing.
