Job summary

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. seeks a Staff Project Engineer to own the technical execution plan for complex programs spanning software, FPGA, hardware, and manufacturing transitions.

You will collaborate with software, FPGA, and hardware leads to align architecture decisions with actionable tasks and milestones, ensuring on-time delivery from concept through manufacturing release. You will manage cross-team dependencies, drive risk mitigation, and communicate status to leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience driving complex, multi-disciplinary engineering programs to schedule under heavy ambiguity.
• Strong technical background in software or systems engineering; hands-on coding not primary.
• Ability to influence senior technical peers and change planning/execution approaches.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the integrated program schedule across software, FPGA, hardware, and manufacturing.
• Identify and manage cross-team dependencies to prevent blockers.
• Own the risk and issue register; drive mitigation early.
• Translate architecture decisions into actionable engineering tasks and milestones.
• Track progress, replan or reallocate resources to keep milestones in scope.
• Manage third-party and subcontractor deliverables against schedule and quality.
