About the team & opportunity

What’s so great about working on Calendly’s Research & Insights team? We are a small but growing team reporting directly into our Founder and CEO, and we work to deeply understand our customers, what they need, and how Calendly can best serve them.

Why do we need you? We are looking for a Staff Product Researcher who will bring deep expertise in all facets of product and experience research and will be comfortable taking an integrated approach to synthesizing data across various sources to achieve deep and holistic insights - and mentoring others to do the same. You will report to the Senior Director of Research and Insights and will be responsible for leading projects that directly impact the future of our product at Calendly.

A day in the life of a Staff Product Researcher at Calendly

On a typical day, you will:

  • Envision, scope, and lead research projects that inform product strategy and experience improvements, including both generative and evaluative research
  • Act as an advocate for our users and their needs, ensuring product and design teams also have a deep understanding of what to build, why, and for whom
  • Apply a mixed-methods approach (surveys, un-moderated and moderated testing, interviews, teardowns, etc.)
  • Translate data analysis into clear, direct, and actionable insights, with emphasis on compelling narratives that highlight both the customer and business value
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the insights culture at Calendly, investing in learning and applying novel approaches to research and setting the bar for excellence
  • Develop strong relationships with cross-functional partners and stakeholders, engaging them along the research lifecycle from initial scope to influencing action
  • Present and socialize insights in a variety of forums, including directly to executives
  • Balance rigor with speed, finding the “right size” approach for the business need
  • Manage vendors as needed to accelerate delivery or augment internal resources

What do we need from you?

  • 10+ years of experience conducting research in a product or UX setting; including 5+ years of experience in business software or SaaS, ideally at a b2b and/or product led growth company
  • Advanced understanding and application of qualitative and quantitative research methods and a broad range of research tools and how to apply them
  • Strong examples of leading work that has influenced product strategy and/or led to a deeper understanding of users
  • Demonstrated effectiveness and ability to prioritize and manage complex research projects from concept to close-out, making tradeoffs as needed to deliver results
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and/or partnering directly with product managers, designers, engineers, and product marketers
  • Experience utilizing VOC data or supporting VOC programs (e.g. CSAT, NPS, etc.)
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time

What’s in it for you?

Ready to make a serious impact? Millions of people already rely on Calendly’s products, and we’re still in the midst of our growth curve — it’s a fantastic time to join us. Everything you’ll work on here will accelerate your career to the next level. If you want to learn, grow, and do the best work of your life alongside the best people you’ve ever worked with, then we hope you’ll consider allowing Calendly to be a part of your professional journey.
