Job description

Overview

Mid-market product-based businesses — manufacturers, distributors, and B2B and B2C commerce companies doing $2.5M–$100M in revenue — are one of the largest underserved opportunities in financial software. Manufacturing alone represents 32% of the global ERP market, worth over $20 billion in North America and projected to reach $32 billion by 2029. And yet most of them are running their finances on tools built for businesses nothing like theirs. That is the gap Intuit is building to fill.

Intuit's strategy is to become the financial operating system for this segment — delivering AI-powered financial intelligence and a connected ecosystem that makes Intuit the system of record mid-market operators build their stack around.

The financial burden is two-sided: inventory-based operations complexity — COGS, multi-location stock, purchase orders, landed costs — and product revenue complexity — deferred recognition, multi-element arrangements, and margin visibility by SKU, channel, and customer. Most have no system that handles both. That is the gap Intuit is building to fill.

As the Staff Product Manager for Product-Based Businesses, you will own the strategy for product-based businesses — defining where Intuit plays, driving build, buy, and partner decisions, and converting high-value customers in partnership with Sales, Lighthouse, and Customer Success.

Responsibilities
  • Define where Intuit plays in the mid-market product-based business segment — ICP, competitive positioning against ERP incumbents, and the build, buy, and partner decisions that sequence the roadmap.
  • Build the integration strategy across inventory, commerce, supply chain, and operations — making Intuit the financial hub mid-market customers build their stack around.
  • Design the agentic layer — agents that execute inventory reconciliation, revenue recognition, period-end close, and cash flow forecasting — with confidence thresholds and escalation logic that make automation trustworthy at mid-market scale.
  • Deliver margin visibility by SKU, channel, and customer; cash flow forecasting; and variance analysis surfaced through natural language that replaces manual Excel modeling.
  • Partner with Lighthouse, Sales, and Customer Success to drive resolution on high-value escalations — translating customer friction into roadmap decisions that improve the product for the broader segment.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years in product management with deep expertise in mid-market financial software, ERP, inventory management, or B2B SaaS serving product-based businesses.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree (MBA or MS) a plus.
  • Firsthand knowledge of how product-based businesses operate — inventory costing, COGS, multi-location operations, purchase order management, and margin visibility by SKU and channel — earned running or building software for manufacturers, distributors, or commerce companies, not learned in a spec.
  • Proven ability to define segment strategy, set competitive positioning against mid-market ERP incumbents, and make build, buy, and partner calls that compound over time.
  • Track record shipping AI-native products in production — writing agentic specs with objectives, tool definitions, confidence thresholds, and escalation logic.
  • Experience owning integration strategies across commerce, inventory, and supply chain platforms — and building the ecosystem partnerships that create structural lock-in at the mid-market.
  • Ability to operate across strategic and tactical registers — defining long-horizon vision while driving high-value customer escalations to resolution in partnership with Sales and Customer Success.
