Rubrik in the United States (remote) is seeking a Staff Product Manager for Databases with Oracle as the initial focus. You will own the Oracle roadmap, drive strategy to protect and recover Oracle databases across RAC, Exadata, Data Guard, on-prem and cloud, and collaborate with PMs for other databases.
You will translate customer needs into requirements, explain Rubrik's fit next to Oracle tools, and enable field teams with training.

Location: US - Remote

When a bank or a hospital loses a critical database to ransomware or a bad change, nobody asks about backup schedules. They ask how fast it's back and whether they can trust what came back. Your job is to make Rubrik the answer to both questions for Oracle.
You’ll join the Databases product team with Oracle as your first focus, and own it end to end, from strategy to the outcomes customers see. Oracle is one of the hardest workloads we protect. Our customers run their most important systems on it. You’ll also lead work that spans several databases, with the PMs who own them as partners.
This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Product Management, Databases. You’ll work with engineering teams in the US and India.
- Own the Oracle roadmap. Set how Rubrik protects and recovers Oracle across RAC, Exadata, Data Guard, on-premises and cloud. Weigh recovery speed against data loss and effort, and make the call.
- Be the product voice with customers. Run deep dives with DBAs, present to executives when the stakes are high, and explain where Rubrik fits next to Oracle's own tools and other vendors.
- Turn escalations into product. When a restore matters, you're on the call for product, alongside support, engineering and the customer's DBAs and executives. Bring a plan, then fix the cause in the product.
- Drive work across databases. Lead initiatives that span several databases, such as recovering whole applications in the right order and proving that backups restore, and help decide which databases we protect next.
- Choose with evidence. Use customer conversations, usage and support data to make the business case for what to build and what to defer. Write requirements engineers trust, with your reasoning shown.
- Launch and land. Give sales engineers the positioning and training they need, and join the field on large enterprise deals. Work with partners such as Oracle and Everpure, and track adoption after launch.
- In 3 months, you've met customers, sales engineers and support. You know where Oracle protection works well and where customers need more, and you've written your view of the roadmap.
- In 6 months, you're the go-to person for Oracle at Rubrik, and your roadmap shapes what engineering builds.
- In 12 months, you've shipped improvements Oracle customers notice. You're leading a cross-database initiative with engineering, and you've fixed the root cause of a problem customers kept raising.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle backup and recovery. You can explain how RMAN backups, archived redo logs and point-in-time recovery work, and what Data Guard and RAC change. You've run Oracle in production, supported it or built products for it, and you can go deep on architecture with engineers.
- Typically 8+ years of product management for technical enterprise products, or equivalent years as a DBA, solutions architect or sales engineer whose calls changed what a team built or bought. You don't need a PM title, but tell us what you changed.
- Comfort in front of customers at every level, from a room of DBAs to a CIO.
- Clear, precise writing and speaking. You can turn a messy situation into a short doc that gets a decision.
- A zero-to-one mindset. You'll write the plan for work that doesn't have one yet, and do what needs doing whatever your title says.
- Fluency with AI tools in how you research and write.
- Experience with Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance, or Oracle Database on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS or Azure.
- Experience with other enterprise databases, such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL or Db2.
- Background in data protection, disaster recovery or cyber resilience.
- Experience working with customers in banking, insurance, healthcare or government.
The minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US (SF Bay Area, DC Metro, NYC, Seattle) Pay Range
$211,400—$317,000 USD
The minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

$190,200—$285,400 USD
