Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Staff Product Designer for the Virtual Expert Platform Collaboration team to craft omnichannel experiences that connect customers with human experts across chat, video, and screen share. You’ll ensure context is preserved through handoffs and support appointment booking and shared notes so relationships compound over time.

You will lead design from ambiguity to shipped product at scale, collaborating with product, engineering, data science, and operations, while mentoring

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in product or interaction design, preferably SaaS or platform.
  • Bachelor's degree in HCI, Design, CS, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Expert command of user-centered design methods, including systems thinking, interaction design, visual design, and research synthesis.
  • Proven track record of leading design from ambiguous problem to shipped product at significant scale.
  • Experience designing complex, multi-sided or platform-level products — bonus if this includes service design or AI-driven experiences.
  • Hands-on experience with design technology: advanced prototyping (Claude, Cursor, Figma), motion design, or UI/front-end code.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills — able to inspire stakeholders and influence without authority in a matrixed organization.
  • A dazzling portfolio that demonstrates both design thinking rigor and exceptional craft.

Responsibilities

  • Interaction design — Distill complicated use cases into simple, clear designs and strategies. Own and visualize your domain's end-to-end experiences and ensure consistency of patterns, flows, and mental models across them.
  • Visual design — Role model high standards of taste, balancing creativity and innovation with consistency. Leverage expert-level craft to design novel visual and interaction solutions that diverge from standard patterns to elevate the product and exceed user expectations.
  • Motion design — Focus on detailed aspects of motion and experience quality; use motion to express emotional resonance. Collaborate with engineering to drive motion capability across platforms and tools.
  • Designing with AI — Oversee the application of AI in your domain's design strategy and deliver AI‑assisted product experiences. Integrate content‑generating AI into workflows to accelerate the concepting phase, ensuring the team spends more time on high-value design refinement.
  • Design standards — Drive adherence to design standards and practices on the team. Identify inconsistencies across experiences in the domain and oversee efforts to address them.
  • Tools & systems — Champion standardized tool use on the team to ensure consistency and clarity of processes and deliverables. Organize and maintain shared resources in Figma, including templates for repeatable processes.
  • Strategy & storytelling — Apply strategic thinking to translate complex platform capabilities into intuitive, customer‑centered journeys. Communicate design rationale with clarity and confidence to senior leaders and stakeholders — make the complex feel obvious.
  • Facilitate and align — Lead cross‑functional workshops, design reviews, and roadmap conversations that bring product, engineering, data science, and ops partners into shared vision.
  • Mentor and grow — Coach junior and mid‑level designers on craft, process, and professional growth.

Job description

Overview

At Intuit, our mission is to power prosperity around the world by helping more than 100 million consumers and small businesses overcome their most critical financial challenges. At the heart of this objective is the Virtual Expert Platform (VEP), a world-class engine that seamlessly bridges the gap between AI-driven services and human intelligence. By connecting customers with credentialed tax professionals, bookkeepers, and accountants across TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp, the VEP team designs next-generation experiences that deliver expert knowledge with unmatched speed, accuracy, and confidence.

"As a Staff Product Designer for VEP Collaboration Platform, you will design the omnichannel platform experiences that connect customers to human experts — reusable services and building blocks that let conversations move seamlessly across chat, video, and screen share, carry full context through every handoff, and extend into appointment booking and shared notes so every relationship compounds over time. You turn the needs of customers, experts, and the business into a resilient, unified platform — build it once, serve it everywhere, and make every connection seamless, reliable, and trusted."
