Job summary

Duolingo is seeking a Staff Designer to shape the end-to-end monetization experience within the language app, covering free and paid surfaces, subscriptions, ads and in-app purchases. You will partner with engineers and product managers to translate strategy into tangible features.

• Online portfolio with consumer mobile app or web design samples.
• Design experience in a consumer application, product, or software role.
• Desire to strive for excellence in your work and attention to detail.
• Ability to explain your work, process, and decisions and seek feedback.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve both the free and paid user experiences across Monetization surfaces within the Duolingo language app.
• Play a leadership role on the Monetization design team in shaping our product roadmap and product development.
• Partner with engineers and product managers to define long-term strategy and short-term tactics for our products.
• Work collaboratively with designers and artists to build upon and expand the Duolingo design language.
• Sometimes work on broadly defined, loose concepts, and sometimes on narrowly defined, tactical features.
• Consider all parts when crafting the experience: from copy to animation to business impact.
