Job description

Accountabilities:
  • Product Design Leadership: Own the end-to-end design process for discovery-focused products, from identifying customer problems and defining opportunities to developing concepts, validating solutions, and delivering polished experiences.
  • Product Strategy and Direction: Partner with product managers and engineering leaders to establish design priorities, shape product roadmaps, challenge assumptions, and make informed decisions about which initiatives deliver the greatest customer and business value.
  • Complex Data Visualization: Translate large, complex, or ambiguous datasets into intuitive dashboards, meaningful metrics, and clear visualizations that help hospitality operators understand performance and take effective action.
  • AI-Powered Experience Design: Design intuitive workflows that enable users to collaborate effectively with AI-powered systems. Make advanced capabilities accessible, understandable, and trustworthy while reducing complexity and friction.
  • Customer-Centered Problem Solving: Advocate for customer needs throughout the product development lifecycle. Use customer research, behavioral insights, and product evidence to identify pain points, validate assumptions, and guide design decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product and engineering teams to align design solutions with technical feasibility, business objectives, and user expectations. Represent the design perspective in strategic discussions and decision-making.
  • End-to-End Design Execution: Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, interaction models, and production-ready interfaces. Collaborate with engineers to ensure that the final implementation reflects the intended experience and quality standards.
  • Design System Stewardship: Maintain and evolve the design system to support consistency, usability, and scalability while allowing room for innovation and new product requirements.
  • Prioritization and Decision-Making: Evaluate competing product opportunities, balance customer needs against business constraints, and recommend where to invest design and engineering resources for maximum impact.
  • Rapid Prototyping and Experimentation: Use Figma, AI-assisted tools, code, and platforms such as Vercel to test concepts, explore alternatives, and accelerate the transition from ideas to working prototypes.
  • Design Quality and Craftsmanship: Maintain high standards for usability, visual consistency, interaction design, and attention to detail. Identify and eliminate unnecessary complexity to ensure that every shipped feature delivers a clear purpose.
  • Team Influence and Continuous Improvement: Raise the quality of product decisions through thoughtful critique, clear communication, and collaborative problem-solving. Establish effective design practices that help the broader team work more efficiently and deliver better outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Professional Experience: Extensive experience in product design, UX design, or a related discipline, with a track record of leading complex product initiatives and delivering successful digital experiences. Staff-level experience or equivalent demonstrated leadership and ownership is highly desirable.
  • Product Strategy and Leadership: Ability to independently establish design direction, influence product strategy, challenge assumptions constructively, and make sound decisions in cross-functional environments.
  • End-to-End Product Design: Demonstrated experience taking digital products from early discovery and problem definition through prototyping, testing, implementation, and launch.
  • Data Visualization Expertise: Strong ability to simplify complex information, design intuitive dashboards, communicate metrics effectively, and create interfaces that help users interpret data and make confident decisions.
  • AI-Driven Product Design: Familiarity with AI-powered products, intelligent workflows, or emerging AI technologies, with the ability to design experiences that make complex capabilities understandable and useful.
  • Exceptional Design Craft: Strong skills in interaction design, information architecture, visual design, prototyping, and usability. A keen eye for detail and the ability to balance functional clarity with polished execution are essential.
  • Design Systems Knowledge: Experience working with established design systems and evolving components, patterns, and guidelines to support consistency without limiting innovation.
  • Prototyping and Technical Fluency: Proficiency with Figma and comfort experimenting with code, AI-assisted development tools, and platforms such as Vercel to test ideas and bring concepts to life quickly.
  • Customer and Business Acumen: Ability to connect customer needs, product performance, technical considerations, and business objectives when prioritizing features and evaluating design solutions.
  • Ownership and Autonomy: A proactive, highly reliable working style, with the ability to operate independently, anticipate challenges, identify gaps, and move initiatives forward without extensive supervision.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions, incorporate feedback, build consensus, and work effectively with product managers and engineers.
  • Adaptability and Judgment: Comfort navigating ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and making thoughtful trade-offs in a fast-moving environment where requirements and opportunities evolve quickly.
  • Growth and Discovery Mindset: Curiosity about AI-powered search, travel technology, and digital discovery. Experience in SEO, marketing technology, growth products, or related fields is an advantage but not required.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating shipped product work is required, showcasing strong product judgment, complex problem-solving, end-to-end ownership, and exceptional design execution.
Benefits:
