Job summary

Oura is seeking a Staff Product Design Engineer in a hybrid role based near San Francisco. You will lead mechanical design for wearable devices, coordinate with manufacturing partners across regions, and rapidly prototype and test concepts to refine the product roadmap.

You will apply deep materials science knowledge and 3D CAD expertise to solve densely packed electronics challenges while mentoring junior engineers and communicating with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a consumer product design engineer, preferably wearables.
• Independent judgment in engineering methods and evaluation.
• 3D CAD expertise (NX or SolidWorks) for densely packed electronics.
• Rapid prototyping ability with standard test equipment.
• Materials science and scalable manufacturing knowledge.
• Comfort solving problems with ambiguity.
• Technical leadership and mentoring capability.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• 10+ years as a consumer product design engineer, preferably with wearables experience
• Independent judgment in engineering methods and evaluation
• 3D CAD expertise (NX or Solidworks) for densely packaged electronics including PCBs, flexes, antennas, enclosures, mechanisms, and batteries
• Rapid prototyping ability with standard test equipment
• Materials science and scalable manufacturing knowledge
• Problem‑solving comfort with ambiguity
• Technical leadership and mentoring capability
• Strong communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Compensation & Benefits

Salary (San Francisco): $198,000 – $233,000
