Job summary

Google LLC is hiring a Data Scientist/Analytics Engineer to support Workspace analytics for Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Pics and Vids. You will design scalable data models and metric stores, partnering with product and engineering to deliver insights that influence decisions.

You will work with the Collab Data Science team to shape decision-making and provide actionable insights to guide product development for Workspace used by 3B+ users monthly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is required.
• 10 years analytics experience or 8 with a Master's.
• 8 years in core product analytics concepts (engagement, funnel, AB testing).
• 8 years in data modeling and semantic layers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the research and development of metric frameworks and methodologies to evaluate effectiveness and adoption of Workspace features.
• Partner with product engineering and infrastructure teams to clarify ambiguity and manage multi-team telemetry projects.
• Design and build scalable data models and analytical architecture across product domains.
• Scope and manage self-serve analytics by designing semantic layers, metric stores, dashboards.

• Lead the research and development of metric frameworks and methodologies to evaluate the effectiveness, user adoption, and efficiency of Generative AI and agentic tooling within Workspace products.
• Partner with product engineering and central data infrastructure teams across the organization to clarify ambiguity, define roles, and manage multi-team telemetry and infrastructure projects from inception to execution.
• Design and build scalable data models and analytical architecture that connect data across distinct product domains, ensuring cohesion.
• Scope and manage initiatives to enable self-serve analytics by designing unified semantic layers, metric stores, executive dashboards, and AI-powered self-serve tooling.
