As a Staff Process Engineer, you will be at the forefront of translating novel research into efficient, high quality manufacturing processes. Your expertise with process scaling and rapid troubleshooting will have a direct impact on the design and operations of the equipment that creates Form’s Gas Diffusion Cathode . You will design experimental trials, identify and optimize key process inputs, analyze data and present technical reports, all to facilitate the smooth integration of new processes, equipment, and materials. No problem is too big or small for our team, which allows us to move quickly to develop our cutting edge technology! This is a fantastic opportunity to join an early-stage cleantech company with a direct impact on the nature of energy storage and renewables.

This role will be located at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV, which is just a short drive outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation assistance is available.

What You'll Do

  • Partner closely with our Manufacturing Equipment Team to design, build, install, and run processes on first-of-kind manufacturing equipment.
  • Commission and qualify processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with tight timelines.
  • Perform equipment and process capability studies while documenting and continuously improving the process steps that deliver Form’s Cathodes.
  • Develop novel test methods to evaluate product quality and inform process window optimization strategies.
  • Mentor, guide, and support technicians and junior process engineers on new manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Be a champion for safety while scaling initial process designs to full production volume.

What You'll Bring

  • 7+ years of experience with process engineering in a pilot line or fast-paced manufacturing environment, such as NPI or scale-up.
  • Demonstrated track record of innovative development and desire to roll up your sleeves and fill the gaps where necessary.
  • Proficiency with statistical methods and tools for making process development decisions (using JMP, Minitab, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with powder blending, webhanding, extrusion, or calendering processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, and experience authoring process, safety, and quality documentation for best-in-class practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
