Job summary

OneOncology is seeking a Staff Accountant, Practice Accounting, to support the month-end close and financial reporting for a designated pod on the operational accounting team. This entry-level role builds foundational accounting skills while ensuring accuracy under US GAAP.

The position is hybrid in Nashville, TN, reports to the Manager of Practice Accounting, and offers exposure to consolidations, variance analysis, and collaboration with internal stakeholders and external auditors.

Qualifications

• 0–4+ years of accounting experience
• Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
• Working knowledge of ERP platforms is a plus (e.g., Workday)
• Active CPA license or pursuing CPA license preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with US GAAP.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with monthly close activities and preparation of financial statements.
• Support variance analysis and financial reviews with Senior Accountant and Manager.
• Maintain organized supporting documentation for all accounting transactions.
• Assist in preparing schedules and analyses for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
• Contribute to implementing new accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and continuous improvement.
• Build relationships with peers and internal finance teams.
• Support ad hoc projects and analyses as needed.

Job Description

The Staff Accountant, Practice Accounting, reports to the Manager of Practice Accounting and supports the month-end close and financial reporting process within a specific functional pod on the operational accounting team. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries and reconciliations while ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP. This entry-level role is an opportunity to build foundational accounting and analytical skills while contributing to the accuracy and timeliness of the organization’s financial results.

This is a hybrid role in Nashville, TN.

Required or Preferred Qualifications

• 0-4+ years of accounting experience
• Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
• Working knowledge of Workday or other ERP platforms is a plus
• Active CPA license or working toward CPA license preferred
