Job summary

OneOncology in Nashville, TN is seeking a Staff Accountant, Practice Accounting, to support month-end close and financial reporting within a dedicated pod of the operational accounting team. This entry-level role focuses on journal entries, reconciliations, and ensuring US GAAP compliance in a hybrid work arrangement.

You will collaborate with the Senior Accountant and Manager, handle variance analysis, and help prepare financial statements.

Qualifications

• 0-4+ years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
• Working knowledge of Workday or other ERP platforms is a plus.
• Active CPA license or working toward CPA license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with US GAAP.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with monthly close activities, including consolidations and preparation of financial statements.
• Support the Senior Accountant and Manager in variance analysis and financial reviews.
• Maintain organized supporting documentation for all accounting transactions.
• Assist in preparing schedules and analyses for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
• Participate in implementing new accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Build strong working relationships with peers, practice staff, and internal finance teams.
• Support ad hoc projects and analyses as needed.

Job Description: The Staff Accountant, Practice Accounting, reports to the Manager of Practice Accounting and supports the month-end close and financial reporting process within a specific functional pod on the operational accounting team. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries and reconciliations while ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP. This entry-level role is an opportunity to build foundational accounting and analytical skills while contributing to the accuracy and timeliness of the organization’s financial results. This is a hybrid role in Nashville, TN.

Required or Preferred Qualifications
