Fastly is seeking a Staff Technical Product Manager for Runtimes in New York City. This hybrid, full-time senior role directs Compute and VCL runtimes, shaping strategy, roadmaps, and the platform surface to support edge computing at scale.

You will collaborate with Engineering, GTM, and leadership to align on runtime direction, deliver cross-functional impact, and drive production workloads forward with a focus on AI-era runtimes.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience defining runtime strategy and roadmaps.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration across product, eng, and leadership.
• Proven ability to ship platform features end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Own the runtime surface end-to-end: define and drive the strategy and roadmap for Fastly’s runtimes, including Compute and VCL.
• Scale Compute for demanding workloads: enhance Compute as a runtime and platform surface, with reliable, predictable limits.
• Expand the runtime surface: bring new execution models onto Fastly as native runtime workloads.
• Define how runtimes meet the AI era: anticipate AI workloads and define primitives and controls.
• Take and defend strong positions: articulate clear, evidence-based viewpoints and gain alignment across teams.
• Execute across boundaries: partner with Core Infrastructure technical lead, GTM, and hybrid/on-prem teams to move decisions forward.
