Job summary

Decagon, the leading conversational AI platform, is hiring a founding Platform Engineer, Security to design, build, and operate the security infrastructure powering Decagon's AI platform. This builder role shapes security tooling, templates, and infra-as-code used by all engineers to create secure services.

You will help automate, observability, and self-service while collaborating with Security, Infrastructure, and product teams to meet enterprise and compliance needs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating production infrastructure with security focus.
• Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and/or AWS, including IAM and networking.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
• Strong coding ability in at least one systems language: Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• Experience applying AI-assisted tooling to improve developer efficiency.
• Experience with secure container deployment, service mesh, and Kubernetes security best practices.
• Observability/incident-response tooling experience; reduce toil.
• Clear written communication; turn ambiguous requirements into reliable designs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, multi-tenant infrastructure isolating data while enabling AI model serving.
• Build golden paths for security using templates, libraries, and policy-as-code.
• Own infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and GitOps practices with reusable modules.
• Expand platforms for alerting, secrets management, IAM, and automated remediation; integrate with CI/CD.
• Translate enterprise/compliance requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR) into controls.
• Participate in security on-call and improve runbooks and incident learnings.
