Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to shape Forge Platform architecture and production software. You will build Kubernetes‑native services, enable distributed workloads, and partner with autonomy, ML Ops, simulation, and infra teams across cloud, on‑prem, edge, and air‑gapped environments.

You will drive reliability, observability, and scalable design while balancing developer productivity with long‑term operability and profitability for mission‑critical autonomy systems.

Qualifications

• Significant experience designing and operating production distributed systems.
• Strong Go and Python production skills.
• Deep understanding of failure handling, consistency, retries, and fault tolerance.
• Hands-on in architecture, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements.

Responsibilities

• Build Kubernetes-native platform services and operators across environments.
• Design reusable primitives for authoring, scheduling, and scaling pipelines.
• Develop data storage, ingestion, validation, transformation, and governance.
