True Anomaly is hiring a Staff Infrastructure Platform Engineer to design and ship foundational cloud infrastructure used by every engineering team. You will lead cross‑cloud networking between AWS and Azure, build reusable infrastructure‑as‑code, and set scalable CI/CD standards across the enterprise.

You will mentor the first infra engineers, partner with security and IT, and drive automation and standards in a fast‑paced environment that values autonomy and high impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering with leadership experience.
• Strong background deploying and operating production apps on cloud platforms.
• Deep experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) at scale.
• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code and reusable modules (e.g., Terraform).

YOUR MISSION

As a Staff Infrastructure Platform Engineer, you will be one of the first hires building the cloud infrastructure, tooling, and standards that every engineering team across the company depends on. You will design and ship the foundational infrastructure that the rest of the company relies on, including multi‑cloud environments, connectivity between them, and paved‑road patterns for how software is built, deployed, and operated. Your work will let engineering teams across True Anomaly move faster and more safely.

The role will involve designing cross‑cloud networking between AWS and Azure, authoring reusable infrastructure‑as‑code, establishing CI/CD and deployment standards that scale across the enterprise, and leading the first infrastructure engineers on the team. You will partner with senior leaders, influence across organization, and coach and mentor team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the design of foundational cloud infrastructure rolled out across the enterprise.
• Design and operate the foundational multi‑cloud environment, including account structure, guardrails, and shared networking and identity.
• Own the self‑service experience for provisioning accounts, bootstrapping resources, and deploying onto paved roads.
• Author and maintain reusable infrastructure‑as‑code (e.g., Terraform) and establish standards for its use.
• Establish CI/CD, testing, and deployment standards that scale across the enterprise.
• Build self‑service tooling and paved‑road patterns for provisioning, deploying, and operating systems.
• Own technical evaluation and selection of cloud services, infrastructure tooling, and platforms.
• Act as the technical anchor for the first infrastructure engineers on the team—leading, coaching, and mentoring them.
• Partner with engineering, security, and IT teams to ensure infrastructure meets government security and compliance requirements.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and help the team adopt them.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Typically 8+ years of software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering experience with a record of technical leadership.
• Strong general software background and experience deploying and operating production applications on cloud.
• Deep experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) at scale.
• Strong experience with infrastructure‑as‑code (e.g., Terraform) and reusable modules.
• Experience building and setting modern CI/CD, continuous testing, and deployment standards, and driving their adoption across multiple teams.
• Ability to work across a broad technical surface area, context‑switching between infrastructure, application development, and platform architecture.
• Recognized depth in one or more of: CI/CD and build/release tooling, cloud networking, infrastructure‑as‑code at scale, or developer platforms and shared engineering tooling.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (HTTP, ports, DNS, firewalls, security groups, cloud networking primitives).
• Experience using AI‑powered development tools to deliver production code and automate routine work.
• Ability to exercise cross‑organizational influence and coach and mentor a team.
• Self‑directed and comfortable operating with high autonomy in a fast‑paced environment where priorities shift.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top‑Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Enterprise experience building and operating infrastructure at scale in a high‑growth or large technology organization.
• Experience with containers, orchestration, service mesh, and artifact/registry management.
• Experience designing and improving the developer experience or building and maintaining core developer processes and automation.
• Familiarity with government cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and authorization frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST 800‑53, IL4/IL5).
• Experience deploying infrastructure in government, defense, or regulated environments with security and compliance constraints.
• Experience designing or maintaining an enterprise network.
• Experience with observability, reliability engineering, IAM/secrets management.
• Background in developer tooling, platform engineering, or internal platform teams at high‑growth technology companies.
• Active U.S. Secret or Top‑Secret security clearance.

COMPENSATION

Base Salary: Denver $150,000 – $220,000; Long Beach $160,000 – $230,000.

Equity and benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401(k), and Parental Leave.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Work Location — Long Beach, CA, or Denver, CO. Must be onsite as business requires; average of 3 days per week in office.
