Job summary

Enrollment123 is seeking a DevOps engineer to work on DevOps projects and security for our health-insurance platform. The role involves building and maintaining development tools, automating deployments, and ensuring high availability across a SaaS environment.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team, implement CI/CD pipelines, and participate in on-call rotates to support platform uptime and security. Remote work is supported nationwide in the United States.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and deploying highly-available, fault-tolerant systems, ideally SaaS.
• Understanding of secure systems deployment and software development (OWASP).
• Ability to automate repetitive tasks via scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
• Ability to communicate complex problems clearly across levels.

Location: e123 is a Work From Anywhere company based in southern California with an entirely remote workforce from all over the US. This role can be based anywhere in the US (with the exception of IN, IL, PA, NE).

This developer will work primarily on projects related to DevOps as well as the security
of our platform. Support and work alongside a cross-functional engineering team on the
latest technologies.

Role and responsibilities:

• Build, integrate, deploy and maintain development tools focusing on:
  • code deployment
  • platform security
  • source control
  • system administration
  • configuration management
  • application performance
• Participate in system maintenance and application uptime activities
• Work on Security-focused development projects utilizing ColdFusion andassociated technologies (Javascript, …)
• Implement automation, effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code
• Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments
• Iterate on best practices to increase the quality & velocity of deployments
• Have on-call responsibilities in rotation with the engineering team

What will help you succeed in this role:

• Experience maintaining and deploying highly-available, fault-tolerant systems atscale, preferably in a SaaS environment
• Understanding of secure systems deployment and software development (ie.OWASP)
• Natural tendency to automate repetitive tasks (e.g. scripting via Powershell,Bash, etc)
• Ability to understand complex problems and communicate them in simple termsto all levels of company
• AWS skills (e.g. IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, ALB, Autoscaling)
• MS Windows Server, IIS and MS application skills
• MS SQL Server skills
• Version control system experience (e.g. Subversion, Git)
• Experience implementing CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins, TravisCI)
• Clear understanding of Disaster Recovery, Redundancy, Scalability
• Experience with IT assessments, audits/reviews. (ie. PCI, HIPAA, Best PracticesRisk Assessments)
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies through self-learning
