Job summary

Luminai in New York City is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and lead core platform development. You will help define, architect and improve foundational systems used by production teams worldwide, enabling autonomous AI automations with scale and reliability.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will drive technical initiatives, own critical frameworks, and mentor others while shaping security, observability, and performance across the platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on backend architecture work.
• Proven track record shipping high-quality code on challenging problems.
• Experience building internal frameworks, libraries or developer tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain core frameworks, libraries, and shared packages used by product engineers.
• Own developer experience end-to-end: local dev, build, CI/CD, test infra.
• Build tooling to preserve quality without slowing teams: linters, formatters, static analysis, codegen, checks.
• Remove bottlenecks in shipping and re-architect abstractions to scale.
• Lead core technical initiatives to set code quality standards.
• Define and scale experimentation, monitoring, reliability, and observability.
• Improve core Luminai IDE for end-user experience.
• Set defaults for access control, secrets management, and authentication.
