Job summary

Luminai is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Platform team and drive core platform development used to deploy autonomous AI automations in production environments.

As a senior engineer, you will own backend systems, developer tooling, and core frameworks, guiding technical initiatives and scale in a high-growth company with offices in New York or San Francisco. In-office four days a week.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing production backend systems.
• Experience building internal frameworks or developer tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the core frameworks, libraries, and shared packages.
• Own developer experience end to end: local dev, build, CI/CD, tests.
• Build and maintain tooling for quality: linters, formatters, static analysis, codegen, checks.
• Identify bottlenecks and re-architect abstractions to scale.
• Lead core technical initiatives to raise the codebase quality.
• Define and scale experimentation, monitoring, reliability, and observability for production systems.
• Improve the Luminai IDE for end-user experience.
• Set defaults for access control, secrets management, and authentication.
