Job summary

Ridgeline is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and evolve foundational platform capabilities used by multiple product teams. You will lead architecture discussions, define data models and APIs, and guide on-call and production support while collaborating with Platform, Product, and engineering teams to build scalable, secure systems.

You’ll employ OO languages such as Java/Kotlin/Python, work with PostgreSQL and modern tech like Kafka, Redis, Kubernetes, and Spark, and you’ll leverage

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with shared platforms or frameworks
• Experience designing extensible data models, APIs, and platform abstractions
• Strong backend engineering experience with OO languages and relational databases
• Experience operating production services including monitoring and incident response
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction across teams

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve extensible enterprise platform frameworks for product teams
• Lead architecture discussions for shared infrastructure and data models
• Apply iterative problem solving to ambiguous technical challenges
• Design and test durable platform abstractions with focus on performance, security, and operability
• Use AI tools throughout the SDLC to accelerate research, prototyping, and testing
• Participate in on-call rotations and production support for services
• Involve in end-to-end software development processes including reviews and testing
• Evolve Ridgeline’s cloud-backed platform focusing on operability, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Mentor engineers across teams on architecture, reliability, and maintainability
• Collaborate across Platform, Product, and other teams to drive innovation
