Job summary

Boston University Student Health Services seeks a Staff Physician to provide preventive and episodic medical care to students, in-person and virtual visits. Responsibilities include evaluating and treating acute and chronic conditions, coordinating referrals, and maintaining clinical documentation.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution with completion of a primary care residency and primary care sports medicine fellowship.
• Board certified in a primary care specialty.
• Licensed to practice medicine in Massachusetts by start date.
• Unrestricted Massachusetts Controlled Substance Certificate and DEA license by start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating and treating acute and chronic conditions, conducting examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, performing appropriate office-based procedures, developing treatment plans, and coordinating referrals and follow-up care.
• Collaborates with SHS staff and other healthcare providers to support high-quality, accessible, and culturally responsive care.
• Maintains current knowledge of medical standards and guidelines relevant to college health.
• Participates in continuing education, professional development, and performance evaluations.
• Contributes to the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, as applicable.
