Job description

Overview: The Psychiatric Physician at Cone Health can practice in various clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, hybrid, full-time, part-time, and relief roles, across multiple facilities within the Cone Health system. These include, but are not limited to, the Behavioral Health Hospital, Behavioral Health Unit Crisis Center, and outpatient locations in Greensboro, Kernersville, Reidsville, and Burlington. The Cone Health Psychiatrist is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and fulfilling all clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provides multidisciplinary team coordination services in the assigned areas.
  2. Mentors Cone Health psychiatry residents and other students as needed.
  3. Uses independent judgment for diagnosing and treating patients, developing treatment plans, and directing the interdisciplinary team, including advanced practice providers, to achieve patient care goals.
  4. Models and upholds professional standards, including the Medical Staff By-Laws, Service Excellence commitments, practice standards, physician expectations, and professional image standards.
  5. Participates in medical audits, quality improvement programs, investigations, peer reviews, and other inquiries related to professional care standards.
  6. Engages in continuous improvement efforts and applies evidence-based practices aiming for outcomes in the 90th percentile or above.
  7. Maintains records in accordance with MCHS policies, applicable laws, and regulations.
  8. Contributes to the development of clinical guidelines, procedures, and programs, and recommends improvements to enhance quality and efficiency of care.
  9. Shares designated on-call responsibilities with other physicians in the assigned areas as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Board certification in Psychiatry (Fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry preferred).
  • North Carolina Medical License.
  • North Carolina Drug Enforcement Administration License.
