Job summary

Penn State Health Children’s Hospital in Hershey, PA, Division of Pediatric Pulmonology, is recruiting a Pediatric Pulmonologist or a Pediatric Pulmonary/Sleep Medicine Physician. The team includes a dedicated sleep program with 16-bed sleep lab.

You will join a supportive group of physicians and APPs, with opportunities for research and growth. The position offers competitive compensation, sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, CME funds, and generous benefits, including a university tuition

Qualifications

  • BC/BE in Pediatric Pulmonology or Sleep Medicine is required or +/- BC/BC Sleep Medicine.
  • MD or DO with ability to obtain PA license in Pennsylvania.
  • Interest in research encouraged but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine clinical services.
  • Contribute to a multidisciplinary team including respiratory therapists and nurses.
  • participate in sleep lab oversight and flexible bronchoscopy as needed.
  • Support program growth and research within Penn State Health.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Penn State Health Children’s Hospital in Hershey, PA, Division of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine, is recruiting a Pediatric Pulmonologist or a Pediatric Pulmonary/Sleep Medicine Physician.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • A division of 10 physicians (8 full time) and 7 NP/PA’s.
  • A full complement of ancillary staff including excellent administrative support, a social worker, dietician/nutritionist, CF nurse coordinator and other nursing support, and two clinical research nurse coordinators.
  • A 16-bed sleep lab that we share with adult medicine in which we have 4+ Pediatric beds. We have 2 Peds pulm/sleep medicine physicians and 2 APPs supporting the sleep program.
  • Currently, our staffing model has 1.4 FTE Sleep Medicine physicians and a 1.0 FTE NP staffing the sleep program.
  • We are an accredited CF center and have programs in home ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, neuromuscular diseases, sickle cell disease, apnea, severe asthma, BPD +/- PH, aerodigestive disease, Pierre Robin sequence, etc. We also offer flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy and have a dedicated procedure room for procedures.

What we're seeking:

  • BC/BE in Pediatric Pulmonology (+/- BC/BC Sleep Medicine)
  • M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent
  • Ability to acquire a license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania
  • An interest in research would be supported but is not required.
