Job Opportunity: Staff Physician 2 at Warren State Hospital

The Department of Human Services (DHS), Warren State Hospital is seeking a Staff Physician 2 to be part of our team. As a Staff Physician 2, you will provide medical care and treatment for all physically ill patients. Responsibilities include performing admission physicals, neurological exams, and obtaining medical and surgical histories on all new admissions to the hospital. You will review all medical records from previous hospitalizations and community hospitals, and formulate medical diagnoses, treatment goals, and plans for individual patients.

Additional Details
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Hours may change based on operational needs.
  • On-call participation for nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Overtime as needed. No shift work.
  • Free parking provided.
  • Telework: Not available for this position.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training:

  • Three years of experience and/or training in the practice of medicine.

Special Requirements:

  • Must possess a license to practice medicine in Pennsylvania, issued by the State Medicine Board or the State Osteopathic Medicine Board.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is waived for this title.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • Pass a background investigation.
  • Conditional employment requires medical examination and drug screening.
  • Position falls under the Older Adult Protective Services Act, requiring satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police and FBI clearance.
