Pharmacy Inpatient Night Shift

Job Summary:

This position supports adult inpatient pharmacy operations for an expansion of Vanderbilt University Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Review drug orders and prescriptions to ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication use.
  2. Provide outstanding patient care by optimizing medication preparation and resolving medication-related issues.
  3. Prepare and dispense medications, provide drug information, and manage medication therapy according to regulations and hospital policies.
  4. Supervise support personnel activities and verify the accuracy and appropriateness of all medications prepared before dispensing.
  5. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Technical Capabilities:
  • Pharmaceutical Computer Literacy (Novice): Understanding of computer applications supporting medication use processes.
  • Pharmaceutical Drug Preparation, Dispensing & Distribution (Intermediate): Proficiency in drug preparation, dispensing, and distribution, including sterile preparations.
  • Medication Management (Intermediate): Ability to conduct medication management, assess clinical appropriateness, and interpret lab results.
  • Mentoring & Coaching (Novice): Ability to train and mentor others, provide constructive feedback, and improve team performance.
