Job summary

HealthWealth Pharmacy in Houston, TX is seeking a licensed PRN Staff Pharmacist to provide coverage on an as-needed basis with a flexible schedule and a strong focus on patient care. You will play a key role in dispensing prescriptions and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will counsel patients, review orders, and collaborate with physicians to optimize therapy while maintaining accurate records and DEA-compliant controls.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D. from an accredited institution.
• Active Texas State Pharmacist License required.
• Retail/compounding/clinical experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of drug interactions and pharmacology.
• Excellent patient communication and counseling skills.
• Ability to work independently with a flexible PRN schedule.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Compounding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance.
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Verify and review prescriptions submitted by healthcare providers for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws.
• Support pharmacy technicians and staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Monitor and manage controlled substance dispensing in accordance with DEA regulations.
