Job summary

HealthWealth Pharmacy in Houston, TX seeks a licensed PRN Staff Pharmacist to provide flexible, as-needed coverage. You will join a growing operation and support daily pharmacy activities.

You will dispense meds accurately, counsel patients, review prescriptions, and collaborate with physicians while maintaining compliance with federal and state laws. The role offers a flexible schedule and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D. degree from an accredited institution.
• Active and unrestricted Texas State Pharmacist License.
• Retail, compounding, or clinical pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of drug interactions, pharmacology, and pharmacy law.
• Excellent patient communication and counseling skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to a flexible PRN schedule.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Compounding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance.
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Verify and review prescriptions submitted by healthcare providers for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws.
• Support pharmacy technicians and staff to ensure efficient daily pharmacy operations.
• Monitor and manage controlled substance dispensing in accordance with DEA regulations.
