Job summary

Forum Extended Care Services in Illinois is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to ensure safe, effective medication use for residents of long-term care facilities. You will supervise dispensing, review orders for therapy appropriateness, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

The role requires a PharmD or BPharm, an active pharmacist license in Illinois, and prior LTC or hospital experience; IV experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize clinical knowledge to analyze medication profiles and orders for appropriateness of therapy, dose, and interactions before dispensing to residents.
• Supervise dispensing of medication orders in compliance with state and federal regulations and best practice standards.
• Comply with HIPAA and all current government regulations and professional standards respecting patient care.
• Assist pharmacy managers and lead technicians in managing daily workflow and supervising technician activity.

Comply with HIPAA and all current government regulations and professional standards respecting patient care.Participate in educational and professional programs and/or review professional literature on an ongoing basis to maintain knowledge and competency in current and developing techniques, professional standards, and the services offered by Forum.Assist pharmacy managers and lead pharmacy technicians in managing daily workflow of the pharmacy and supervising technician activity.Work in a fast-paced 24/7/365 institutional pharmacy environment.What we needBachelors or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.Current unencumbered license as a Registered Pharmacist in the pharmacy's state of practice.Previous experience in long-term care or hospital pharmacy preferred.IV experience preferred. If no experience in IV preparation/dispensing, must be able to learn and demonstrate competency.Excellent math, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills required.
