Staff Pharmacist - Per Diem

Memorial Hospital of Gardena
Gardena, CA

As a per diem, nonexempt CPS Solutions, LLC Staff Pharmacist at Memorial Hospital of Gardena, your responsibilities include filling orders accurately, checking technician-prepared products before release, maintaining pharmacy security and controlled substances, entering orders and patient information accurately, assisting in training new staff, updating the Director on daily pharmacy activities, and supporting the Director in pharmacy maintenance. This position may also work at Coast Plaza Hospital.

Schedule: This position is per diem, nonexempt, with no regular hours, providing coverage for shifts during days, evenings, and weekends.

Starting Pay: $60-$70/hour based on experience, plus shift differentials for some shifts.

About the Facility: Founded in 1953, Memorial Hospital of Gardena offers comprehensive healthcare with 173 licensed beds, including 103 acute and 69 sub-acute beds, serving over 30,000 outpatients annually. It is fully accredited and licensed for Medicare, Medi-Cal, and various managed care organizations. CPS Solutions manages pharmacy operations at the hospital.

About the Pharmacy: The centralized pharmacy operates 24/7, supported by AllScripts and Pyxis, with 8 full-time pharmacists and 9 pharmacy technicians.

Required Qualifications:

• Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited school; PharmD preferred
• Current California Pharmacist license in good standing
• Pharmacy Practice Residency completion is strongly preferred
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Experience with Antibiotic Stewardship programs preferred
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, make critical decisions, and respond to concerns
• Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness
• Experience with computer applications and pharmacy systems
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Hospital Requirements (may be required):

• Negative TB skin test within 12 months
• Immunity proof via MMR or blood titer
• Varicella vaccination or immunity proof
• HepB series or declination
• Influenza vaccination (Oct 1 - Apr 30)
• COVID-19 vaccination
