Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Pharmacist in Vermont to lead and support the pharmacy team, ensuring safe dispensing, counseling, and immunization services. You will act as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager during shifts, drive performance improvements, and maintain regulatory compliance across daily operations.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).

Responsibilities

• Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Taking direction from the Pharmacy Manager and overseeing the pharmacy as their proxy during bench shifts without overlap, including strengthening pharmacy performance measures through coaching and follow-up.
• Assumes Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
• Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.
• Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the team to do the same.
• Proactively offering and delivering immunizations to keep patients healthy; supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
• Supporting effective management of pharmacy inventory with focus on cold chain products.
• Partnering with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state regulations; escalating issues as needed.
• Maintaining relevant clinical and technical skills and pursuing CMEs; expanding knowledge to support patients.
• Supporting access to care through pharmacist-delivered clinical care where permissible; collaborating with the patient’s health care team.
