SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Join Our Pharmacy Team at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center!We're seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to contribute to the care of pediatric and adult patients within our busy academic medical center. Your responsibilities will include the accurate storage and distribution of medications, meticulous record-keeping, and the provision of informed drug information. You'll play a key role in ensuring appropriate patient medication regimens, overseeing all aspects from acquisition and sterile preparation to dispensing and inventory control. This position also involves utilizing your analytical and communication skills for drug information requests, contributing to pharmacy policies, participating in educational programs, engaging in drug utilization review, providing clinical pharmacy services, and the option for on-call duties. In addition, you will:
·Oversee our pharmacy technicians
·Check compounded sterile products
·Check compounded non-sterile products
·Answer questions from nursing and providers regarding medications, including compatibility, availability, and stability.
·Review and verify orders
Shift:
·This role will be 100% staffing/patient care in the inpatient main pharmacy
·Varied with rotation of days and evenings
·Staffing every third weekend (day or evening)
·One major and one minor holiday per calendar year
The ideal candidate brings with them:
·Previous hospital experience including compounding of sterile products
·A positive and team focused attitude
·Great people skills and ability to work with different teams
·Ability to manage and adapt to a rapidly changing healthcare settingA desire to grow and learn new things
