Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize regimens for hospitalized patients.
  • Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and safety, preventing adverse drug events.
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns.
  • Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance (Joint Commission, state, federal requirements).

As a part time, nonexempt, Pharmacist at Springwoods Behavioral Health, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services. This is a hands-on opportunity to make a direct impact by ensuring the accuracy of medication orders, verifying technician-prepared products, and safeguarding controlled substances. You’ll contribute to a high-performing team by mentoring new staff, maintaining seamless daily operations, and supporting the Director in optimizing pharmacy performance.

Schedule:

This position will be scheduled one weekend a month.They will also need to fill in as needed during the week. The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:00PM and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00AM to 12:00PM.

About the facility:

Opened in September 2009, Springwoods Behavioral Health is a state-of-the-art private psychiatric hospital. The hospital's 80 beds accommodate children, adolescents, and adults. The six-acre campus is adjacent to a 123 acre Audubon Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary which is to be held in perpetuity and can not be developed from its natural state. This provides Springwoods with a peaceful setting for those embarked on the road to recovery.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Review, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety, and accuracy
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication regimens for hospitalized patients
  • Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding activities, ensuring compliance with USP and hospital standards
  • Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety, identifying and preventing adverse drug events
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow
  • Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission, state, and federal requirements

Required Qualifications:

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44.09 to $78.70 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
