U.S.-Immigration-and-Customs-Enforcement seeks a pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care in ICE facilities, dispensing medications and counseling detainees and staff. The role includes inventory management, formulary support, and maintaining records to ensure compliance.

The position requires collaboration with supervisors and other healthcare staff to participate in audits and emergency care as needed, under USPHS guidance and CAD candidate eligibility.

Responsabilités

• Dispense medications to detainees and staff.
• Counsel patients on medication use and safety.
• Manage inventory and repackage drugs as needed.
• Answer staff inquiries related to medications and formulary.
• Support formulary management and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in audits and quality assurance activities.
• Assist with emergency care as needed.

Description du poste

Provides pharmaceutical care in ICE facilities, including dispensing medications, counseling patients, managing inventory, repackaging drugs, answering staff inquiries, supporting formulary management, maintaining records, ensuring compliance, participating in audits, and assisting with emergency care. Reports to Supervisory Lead Pharmacist.

This position is only open to USPHS officers and Call to Active Duty (CAD) candidates.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Required to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 5 minutes and maintain balance.
• Required to jog/fast walk up to ¼ mile.
• Required to perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling.
• Must have the ability to assist sick, injured or aging detainees or staff exiting the building (may require lifting, dragging, wheeling or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than oneself).
• Must be able to see, hear and smell with aids if necessary.
• Must easily alternate between kneeling and standing.
• Must be able to lift, push, or carry 30 pounds.
• Must perform the duties of my job in a stressful and often austere environment without physical limitations.
