Virginia Commonwealth University Health seeks a licensed Pharmacist to ensure integrity, safety, and effectiveness of drug use for diverse patient groups. Requires Virginia licensure within 90 days and ongoing licensure for continued employment.
Preferred candidates have Pharm.D. and at least one year of experience in a hospital/academic setting, with duties including drug-order verification, patient counseling, and resolving therapy issues.
The Pharmacist ensures the overall integrity, safety, rationality, and effectiveness of the drug use control process for all patients in the assigned geographic or specialty area, including the following patient groups: Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy required or obtained within the first 90 days of employment

Experience REQUIRED: N/A Experience PREFERRED: Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy practice experience in a similar setting. Previous experience with state of the art drug distribution and clinical service methods and drug information sources and retrieval and communication methods.
Education/training REQUIRED: Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited academic program Education/training PREFERRED: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited academic program
Independent action(s) required: The monitoring, screening and verification of all drug-related orders for assurance of proper dosage, route, dosage form, and administration schedule and ensuring expedited preparation and dispensing of all dosage forms by pharmacy personnel. Resolve drug therapy problems, clarify and correct problematic drug orders, designate pharmacy technicians to perform special assignments, counsel patients regarding the safe and proper use of their medications, and resolve equipment and operational problems.

Compensation Range $53.05 - $79.57 Actual salary offers will be based on several key factors to include relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
