Virginia Commonwealth University Health seeks a Pharmacist to ensure the integrity, safety, and effectiveness of drug use for all patients across all ages in the assigned area. The role includes monitoring drug orders, verifying dosages, and ensuring timely dispensing with patient counseling.

The Pharmacist ensures the overall integrity, safety, rationality, and effectiveness of the drug use control process for all patients in the assigned geographic or specialty area, including the following patient groups: Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics.
Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy required or obtained within the first 90 days of employment

PREFERRED: Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy practice experience in a similar setting. Previous experience with state of the art drug distribution and clinical service methods and drug information sources and retrieval and communication methods.
REQUIRED: Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited academic program
PREFERRED: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited academic program
The monitoring, screening and verification of all drug-related orders for assurance of proper dosage, route, dosage form, and administration schedule and ensuring expedited preparation and dispensing of all dosage forms by pharmacy personnel.
Resolve drug therapy problems, clarify and correct problematic drug orders, designate pharmacy technicians to perform special assignments, counsel patients regarding the safe and proper use of their medications, and resolve equipment and operational problems.
