Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join our Meijer Pharmacy team. You will fill prescriptions accurately, educate patients, and mentor pharmacy technicians while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

The role includes immunizations and supervising pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge. We value patient-centered care, strong communication, and teamwork. This hybrid position requires some travel to alternate locations and a commitment to community

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
• Licensed/registered in the state of practice.
• Immunization Pharmacist certification where required.
• Retail/community pharmacy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmacy policies, procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
• Hold pharmacy technicians accountable and mentor the team.
• Educate and mentor technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform at a high level.
• Know and follow Meijer policies and state/federal laws.
• Demonstrate strong communication and change management.
• Prioritize workload with excellent organizational skills.
• Listen to patients and resolve needs; provide customer service.
• In absence of the pharmacist in charge, oversee pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Please note - position requires 2 days a week at an alternate location.

This position must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy, promote patient care and education. This person must be patient directed, clinically oriented, and have a vision to take Meijer Pharmacy to the next level of patient care.

What You'll be Doing:

• Fill prescriptions safely accurately.

• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.

• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Listen to the patient and resolve patient’s needs, customer service.
• In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, will be responsible for the pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee (where allowed) clinical services, including immunizations

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):

• Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
• Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana)
• Retail/Community Practice.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy system, working knowledge of policies and procedures, understanding of regulatory in the state the unit operates.
