Our Staff Pharmacists are key in fostering a culture of excellence by acting as role models, demonstrating genuine care, and setting high standards for the pharmacy team.

As a Staff Pharmacist, you play a critical role in delivering our purpose, modeling our values, and showing authentic care for patients. You support the Pharmacy Manager in leading the pharmacy team and are responsible for managing all aspects of pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Helping manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizations
  • Supporting the Pharmacy Manager by overseeing pharmacy operations during shifts, coaching staff, and providing performance feedback
  • Assuming Pharmacy Manager duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty
  • Ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment following workflow procedures and safety protocols
  • Enhancing patient experience with empathy and genuine care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance or medication issues
  • Proactively offering immunizations and supporting pharmacy technicians in immunization services
  • Managing pharmacy inventory effectively, with special attention to cold chain products
  • Ensuring compliance with state regulations, escalating issues as needed
  • Remaining flexible with scheduling and business needs, supporting the pharmacy team, and assisting with scheduling
  • Maintaining and expanding clinical and technical skills, including required trainings and CME
  • Supporting access to care through clinical services like testing and prescribing where permitted
  • Adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and CVS policies to ensure safety, privacy, and an inclusive workplace
Minimum Qualifications
  • Active Pharmacist License in the store's state
  • Active NPI number
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Essential Functions
  • Consistent attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required trainings on time
  • Attention to detail, multitasking, and patient safety focus
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Mathematical skills for prescription calculations
  • Problem-solving and issue resolution abilities
  • Physical ability to perform job tasks, including lifting and standing for long periods
  • Effective oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in pharmacy or related fields
  • Willingness to work at multiple locations as needed
Additional Details

Weekly hours: 40

Time type: Full time

Pay range: $60.00 - $71.00 per hour, based on experience and location, with potential bonuses or incentives.
