Our Staff Pharmacists play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their pharmacy by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team. As a Staff Pharmacist, you play a critical role at the forefront of delivering our purpose, modeling our values, and demonstrating genuine, authentic care for our patients.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
2. Taking direction from the Pharmacy Manager and overseeing the pharmacy as their proxy during bench shifts, including coaching and providing feedback to pharmacy team members.
3. Assuming the Pharmacy Manager’s duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty.
4. Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment and following pharmacy workflow procedures.
5. Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance or medication issues.
6. Offering and delivering immunizations and supporting pharmacy technicians in immunization procedures.
7. Managing pharmacy inventory, with a focus on cold chain products.
8. Ensuring pharmacy operations comply with state regulations, escalating issues as needed.
9. Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, supporting the pharmacy team.
10. Maintaining clinical and technical skills, seeking opportunities for professional development.
11. Supporting access to care through clinical services like testing and prescribing where permissible.
12. Understanding and complying with all relevant laws, regulations, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and a safe workplace.
