Job Summary
Giant Eagle Pharmacy is actively accepting applications for experienced Pharmacist to fill stores in the greater Erie and surrounding areas.

As a Pharmacist, you will build relationships with patients — providing safe, accurate, and efficient care to achieve optimal outcomes for patients, team members, and the company. This position involves all duties necessary to ensure accurate and efficient dispensing of all central fill patient orders.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Experience Desired: Problem resolution and time management skills
• Education Required: Bachelors Degree
• Certification or Licensing Required: Pharmacy; Immunization Certification/License as required by state; Valid CPR Certification
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 25 pounds

Job Responsibilities

• Stay informed about new drugs, therapies, and developments in the pharmacy industry.
• Adhere to all company, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations including HIPAA.
• Build professional relationships with outside partners such as physicians, nurses, medical assistants, drug reps, and vendors.
• Maintain production rates and meet quality standards set by leadership.
• Train and mentor new team members.
• Administer immunizations.
• Create and maintain a positive work environment.
• Verify accurate replenishment of medication systems.
• Provide excellent patient care.
• Verify all prescriptions for accuracy and quality.
• Address and resolve prescription exceptions.
• Handle prescription transfers.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering.
• Maintain a sterile and organized work environment to meet all regulatory requirements.
• Perform duties of Pharmacy Manager and technician as needed.
• Support technicians with prescription interpretation and third-party billing.
• Complete paperwork and understand the audit process.
• Maintain operational metrics and goals.
• Participate in quarterly CQI meetings.
