Position Summary: Provide operational support for multiple programs within the Express Scripts clinical product portfolio, including but not limited to ScreenRx, Health Connect 360, Advanced Opioid Management, and others. The Staff Pharmacist will need to be fluent in each program's intricacies and provide appropriate patient counseling.
Essential Functions:
- Perform evaluations of patient health records, proactively engage patients, educate them on managing their drug regimens, and inform them of cost-saving opportunities. Respond to inquiries regarding drug therapy and follow up to ensure continuity of care.
- Reach out to new therapy patients to ensure early treatment success, including advising on OTC products and devices.
- Build credibility with healthcare professionals, providing consultations and recommending treatment plans based on evidence-based protocols.
- Conduct drug utilization reviews for patients with complex conditions, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to resolve therapy concerns.
- Represent Express Scripts at meetings, educating clients on TRC processes and benefits.
- Participate in pilot studies with clinics or partners.
- Maintain and enhance knowledge through self-study and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Continuously improve TRC outcomes through process and system improvements.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Registered pharmacist in the practicing state.
- Strong clinical pharmacy skills and disease state knowledge.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Commitment to ongoing education and self-improvement.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and make informed decisions.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to complete required specialist training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PharmD or equivalent, with postgraduate clinical training.
- Certifications such as ACCP, ASHP, or similar.
- Experience with evidence-based drug therapy management.
- Proven record as a trusted healthcare advisor.
- Expertise in drug information tools.
- Clinical residency or fellowship preferred.
- Spanish fluency is a plus.
