Job summary

The Cigna Group seeks a licensed pharmacist to interpret prescriptions, compound and dispense medications onsite in Memphis, TN. You will manage the fulfillment workflow and ensure regulatory compliance during evening shifts.

Job description

This role is onsite at our office in Memphis, TN. Shift for this position is M-F 1:30 - 10:00 PM, plus every other Saturday. Will have Friday off when working Saturday.

POSITION SUMMARY

Interprets physicians' prescriptions and compounds and dispenses medications within regulatory guidelines. Manages the workflow in the Fulfillment operations to ensure accurate and timely dispensing of patient orders upon request. Through Standard Operating Procedure and Professional judgement handles complex problems to resolution. Requires a RPh license.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
• Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
• Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.
• Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians’ workflow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals
• Supervises the work results of support personnel.
• Maintains current registration, studies existing and new legislation, anticipates legislation, and advises management on needed actions.
• Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Preferred Requirements

• Graduate degree from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE), BS in Pharmacy, or PHARMD
• Valid state pharmacist license
• If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
